The Battle-Tested Leader
This book, written by Blake Williams, introduces a brand-new framework of leadership for student-athletes in team sports. It identifies 10 different leadership roles that a student-athlete could fill on their team, leveraging the leadership and character skills that they possess. There’s also an online assessment that students can complete to identify what role they are most suited for based on their current skills.
The Battle-Tested Teammate
This book, written by Blake Williams, is a great read for any student-athlete. It contains 24 short stories from Blake’s life designed to teach 24 principles that a great teammate should possess. It’s our hope that each teammate would get a copy and read through it together. The supplemental Coach’s Questions will help generate team discussions about each chapter. These discussions will help provide opportunities for vulnerability among teammates, which can help foster greater respect, empathy, and relationships among team members.
